‘Shang-Chi’ star Simu Liu teases upcoming Marvel collaboration – The Hollywood Reporter

Simu Liu teases that Shan Chi maybe back in the Miracle Cinematic Universe sooner than expected.

In an interview with Peoplethe Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star said there could be another Marvel movie soon that will feature his character interact with other great superheroes.

“I am such a huge fan of both the characters and the artists they play, so every collaboration is an opportunity for me to work with someone who is breaking barriers in their own way and being on top.” Liu told the publication that he was part of the MCU. “I think that’s what excites me the most as an artist, [and] also as a fan.”

He then teased, “Who knows, they might see something sooner than you think. We will see.”

The Kim’s convenience star is set to return to the role of Shang-Chi in the film’s sequelwith Destin Daniel Cretton again directing.

“Destin is a great employee who brought a unique perspective and skill Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringssaid Marvel head Kevin Feige when the sequel was announced in December 2021. “We’ve had a fantastic time working together on the film and he has so many intriguing ideas for bringing stories to life on Disney+, so we’re expanding our relationship with him and I can’t wait to get started.”

The sequel doesn’t have a release date yet, but there are tons of Marvel Studios projects coming out in which he could appear in the coming years.

Outside of his Marvel role, Liu plays the lead role Greta Gerwig‘s Barbie live actionin cinemas from July 21.
