Ubisoft brought Skull & Bones out of the shadows today, revealing gameplay and a November 8 release date for the pirate-themed open world game.
Skull & Bones lets players explore the Indian Ocean during the Golden Age of Piracy. You start with a Dhow, a small, uninteresting ship, and eventually work your way up to a fleet. This also means keeping a crew happy – unless you want them to mutiny.
While you can play Skull & Bones alone, you can also join in with friends. You will take part in activities such as hunting animals, looting fortresses and cities, and – of course – attacking and boarding wealth-filled ships.
You can also choose to join a player-vs-player server. Here other players can attack your ship and steal your treasures. However, you can repay the favor. Infamy represents your character progress. As you complete your pirate tasks, you gain Infamy and unlock items such as new weapons for your ship.
Ubisoft plans post-launch support for the game, which it says will be free.
