A unit chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Osun State Chapter, Kazeem Oyewale, popularly known as ‘Asiri Eniba’, has been arrested by soldiers.
Oyewale, the NURTW chairman of the Olorunda unit, was arrested this afternoon by soldiers in his Ojurin, Osogbo car park office.
Punch reported that the incident sent the Old Garage Area, where the park is located, into a panic as many drivers and passengers waiting to board to various destinations fled the scene.
An eyewitness told the publication;
“The soldiers arrested him in his office. They ended up in two vehicles.
“We can’t say where he was taken for now, but he was arrested this afternoon in his office Ojurin, Osogbo.”
Prior to Oyewale’s arrest, the state leadership of the People’s Democratic Party in Osun had written several petitions to security forces, accusing the NURTW chief of masterminding attacks on his members.
