The Sony Xperia 1 VI has just been released and Insider Sony on X posted a surprisingly detailed report on Sony's upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xperia Pro-C. The handset will be the successor Xperia Pro-I and will bring many changes.
Perhaps most interestingly, the upcoming Pro-C will have a smaller 6.0-inch screen, down from 6.5″, and will feature a special anti-reflective coating. 2K resolution is also on the menu, to match the current Xperia 1 VI.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage in the base version.
The camera system is also described in detail in the report. The main camera features a 1-inch 50 MP sensor paired with a 20mm f/1.8 optically stabilized lens. The system also supports the 12-bit RAW and 14-bit DCG RAW formats.
The main unit is complemented by two 12 MP cameras. Surprisingly, one of them will also have a 20mm lens, but with a smaller 1/2.9″ sensor and an f/2.0 aperture. We're not entirely sure what the intended use of that module is and the tipster isn't sharing further details about It.
The other 12 MP camera comes with a 4K @ 120 fps 10-bit 420 S-LOG gamma curve and HLG recording capabilities.
The leak doesn't mention an ultrawide camera or telephoto unit, and judging by the information presented so far, the Pro-C might forego these altogether.
Finally, the device runs on a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W charging via Power Delivery protocol.
