SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP) — Southampton cleared a two-goal deficit in the second half to save a 2-2 draw with Leeds in the Premier League on Saturday.

Kyle Walker-Peters’ shot from a tight angle squeezed under goalkeeper Illan Meslier’s right arm and into the net to equalize in the 81st, nine minutes after substitute Joe Aribo made the comeback at St Mary’s.

Rodrigo’s two goals in the second half put Leeds on course for consecutive wins to start the season after narrowly avoiding relegation in the last campaign.

But Jesse Marsch’s team failed to hold onto the lead in the blistering heat, and the draw should ease the pressure on Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, whose team were knocked out 4-1 at Tottenham last weekend.

Leeds striker Patrick Bamford limped off the field in the 28th minute in favor of his right leg. The striker missed a large part of the season last season due to injuries.

Rodrigo tapped a Jack Harrison cross into the post in the 46th minute and headed Pascal Struijk’s header on the hour from a corner.

Aribo cut the deficit in half in the 72nd. The Nigerian midfielder caught a cross from Adam Armstrong, passed attacking goalkeeper Meslier and shot it into the net.

Sékou Mara then kept several defenders at bay and fed Walker-Peters for the equalizer.
