Starlink invites customers to try Global Roaming Service

Starlink has been quite busy over the past year expanding services and providing users with more options. As a result, Starlink has some updates to its services for its users. According to reports, Starlink is inviting customers to try the Starlink Global Roaming service, which allows Starlink customers to connect from anywhere in the world.

Starlink Global Roaming Service

Starlink says its Global Roaming service uses Starlink’s intersatellite links (space lasers) to provide customers with connectivity around the world. In its mail, Starlink advised its users to expect a typical high-speed, low-latency service with short periods of poor connectivity or no connection at all, as this is a new technology. However, Starlink said the QoS will improve dramatically over time.

Starlink Global Roaming service charges

According to the email, the Starlink Global Roaming service costs $200 per month for the service and $599 for the Starlink kit. If customers are not satisfied with the Starlink Global Roaming service, the hardware can be returned within 30 days for a full refund and the service can be interrupted or canceled at any time.

While it is true that this development will allow countries outside the US to access Starlink, SpaceX has included certain disclaimers in its announcement. First, all payments must be made in US dollars. In addition, customers purchasing the service from outside the US will assume the role of importer of record and be responsible for complying with the customs and legal requirements of the destination country.
