Police have said the boys, ages 15 and 18, were injured in an attack on Emperor Mansions in the East Village. The fight broke out around 7pm, leaving the boys in a non-life-threatening condition and police were called to the area at 7:11pm.
Newham Green Party Councilor Nate Higgins reported that there were “two casualties, one with stab wounds”.
The two teenagers were taken to hospital by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.
Police confirmed that the 15-year-old boy who was injured has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
He will be taken into custody as soon as he is released from the hospital.
There is still a crime scene in the area and police are cordoning off the apartment building.
Built as the Olympic Village for the 2012 Summer Olympics, the residential area is now a residential area.
Just a few blocks from the stabbing, a local MP was holding a meeting on tackling crime in East London.
