Investigators in Taiwan allege that Luxshare, one of Apple’s largest manufacturers, lured rivals’ employees and stole trade secrets.
Luxshare has have invested in new iPhone mounting facilities, and production factories for wearables and electric cars. Now it is accused of unfairly poaching other companies’ staff – and stealing trade secrets.
According to ReutersTaiwanese prosecutors have charged 14 people at Luxshare. It is not clear who has been charged or whether they are all facing the same charges.
However, authorities say they have charged the people with breach of trust and taking trade secrets for use abroad. In particular, prosecutors say they targeted rival Catcher Technology employees and secrets “to quickly enter the Apple supply chain to bring in orders.”
“The department will do its best to investigate such cases,” they continued, “to maintain the healthy development of our country’s enterprises and ensure the competitiveness of national industries.”
Neither Apple nor Luxshare have yet publicly responded.
