Only the brave take part in the Running of the Bulls festival in Pamplona, Spain. Brave or stupid, depending on your opinion.
Known locally as Sanfermines, the festival is usually held annually from July 6-14 to commemorate the town’s patron saint. It has resumed after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid pandemic.
Thrill seekers from all over the world are enticed to the festival, many of them to take part in the highlight – the running of the bulls, or encierro – where they try to outrun the animals along a route through the narrow streets of the old town from Pamplona.
