Ten years ago there were only a handful effective skin care brands that fit the bill when it came to cleansing, toning and hydration. It would often be the large heritage companies that could afford a lot of research into new ingredients and, indeed, the associated marketing budget.
But in recent years there has been a major uproar, with lesser-known indie brands now taking over. They may only be known for one or two indispensable cult productssometimes recommended by word of mouth, but almost always deserve a place in your bathroom furniture.
