Back 4 Blood

No two runs are ever the same thanks to an AI director and a card system that shuffles the conditions of each level.
Alien: Fireteam Elite

If zombies aren’t your thing, battle hordes of xenomorphs with up to two friends.
It’s got pulse guns, turrets, and oh God… they’re in the walls.
Extinguishing light

Yes, it’s more zombies. Sorry. But this time at least it’s zombies and parkour.

Switch your brain back on for this. Payday 2 puts you and your friends in the shoes of a bank robbery crew and tasked you with carrying out increasingly complex heists.
Whether you go with firearms, stealth, or a mix of both is up to you.
Lot 2

If the words “exotic helmet” get you excited, then Destiny 2 is the game for you and your friends.
Mechanically, it’s not much different from Borderlands 3, but there’s some real knowledge to sink your teeth into. It also has beautiful skyboxes.

Play as a group of dwarves who go on missions to unearth precious materials from alien dig sites.
It’s a risk-reward co-op game, where there’s more loot to be gained the deeper you go, but the waves of chitinous aliens get more dangerous at the same time.
Divinity: Original Sin 2

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is an RPG as close to digital Dungeons & Dragons as we’ve ever had. It’s an RPG as deep as it is chaotic, especially with four players.
Team up or go out alone and race them to the divine in this infinitely replayable masterpiece.
Overcooked! All you can eat

Sea of Thieves

There’s no other game on this list that lets you smoke five steins before throwing it over your friend’s face.

It takes two

From the same developer as A Way Out, this takes the concept of a pure co-op game full of variety to another level.
Sure, it’s much more family-friendly, but you forget that when you get to the bit with the elephant. You know when you are there.
Portal 2

Instead of a co-op mode on top of the main event, Portal 2 has a special co-op campaign where you play as two robots.
Co-op introduces more complexity to the portal-based puzzling and also allows you to trap your friends in an infinite loop, making them fall forever. Sweet.
