The crown star Elizabeth Debicki bore an uncanny resemblance to Princess Diana when she filmed the late Royal’s family vacation with her two sons.
The 32-year-old takes over the role of Emma Corrinwhile Dominic Cooper replaces Josh O’Connor as King Charles III in the blockbuster Netflix drama.
It’s not the first time the Australian actress has been seen filming scenes for the show charting the history of the royal family. Princess Diana’s last public appearance before her death and on set at Dunsfold Aerodrome.
This week, the Tenet star was in Palma De Mallorca, Spain with Rufus Kampa, who plays a young Prince William, and Prince Harry actor Will Powell.
The trio were seen hopping around on a boat reenacting Princess Diana’s journey to the south of France in July 1997, where the family stayed on a yacht owned by Mohamed Al-Fayed, the father of her partner Dodi.
The holiday took place just a month before Princess Diana and Dodi were killed in a car accident in Paris after being chased by paparazzi.
Elizabeth wore sunglasses and a red shift dress, while Rufus and Will wore the same outfits, both featuring navy blue polo necks and white chinos.
The Great Gatsby actress held ‘Prince William’s’ hand as they climbed aboard the luxurious board that floated on crystal blue seas.
The three actors were seen laughing and engaged in deep conversation as they raced across the bay.
The recordings will come shortly after production for the juggernaut series was discontinued as a sign of respect after the Queen’s death.
A Netflix spokesperson confirmed to Metro.co.uk: “As a show of respect, shooting for The Crown has been suspended today.
“Filming will also be suspended on the day of Her Majesty the Queen’s funeral.”
In the meantime, Edith Bowman teased in an interview with Metro.co.uk that the upcoming season of The Crown will be “baffling.”
The DJ, who hosts The Crown’s podcast, said: “This season is going to amaze people for so many reasons.”
“It’s always that thing because it’s a new cast. We got used to Olivia [Colman] and Jos [O’Connor] and Tobias [Menzies] and Emma [Corrin] and Helena [Bonham-Carter], and we have a whole new cast. It’s almost as if they always have been. You’ll find that you haven’t breathed in for three minutes when you first see them on the screen – and that’s it.”
When asked to describe series five (no spoilers, of course), Edith simply stated, “Unprecedented.”
The Crown is available to stream on Netflix
