Make a fuss about Noseley! The image is the first glimpse into the interior of the spectacular £ 38m Shakespeare playhouse on Merseyside.

  • This is a replica of the “Cockpit at Court” theater built for James I 400 years ago.
  • Shakespeare North Playhouse in Knowsley, Merseyside costs £ 38m
  • Councilor Tony Brennan said it is expected to attract up to £ 5.3 million.

There used to be the only indoor theater dedicated to the Elizabethan era in the suburbs of London.

So it’s no surprise that the Knowsley district of Merseyside can boast £ 38 million in Shakespeare North Playhouse.

The first glance at the venue shows the interior of a breathtaking gallery built in 60 tonnes of beautiful English oak. The 470-seat playhouse in Prescott’s Noseley town has several “pit” seats right next to the actors, ensuring an inspiring and intimate experience for the audience.

Playhouse brings tourism to Britain’s second most disadvantaged district

The flexible stage composition also allows the show to be held in “rounds”. Designed by architect Dr. Nickhelm, this building is an exact replica of the “Cockpit at Court” theater commissioned by James I about 400 years ago.

Knowsley is the second disadvantaged district in the United Kingdom.

However, Councilor Tony Brennan said the playhouse is expected to attract 140,000 visitors annually and bring up to £ 5.3 million to the local economy.

The venue, which is mostly publicly funded, is scheduled to open next month.
