Presenters Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford's shock split left viewers wondering… where did it all go wrong for the TV double act?
The couple, who were together for more than a decade and previously co-hosted 'This Morning', confirmed they were splitting last weekend.
Belfast-born Holmes, 64, started working at GB News in 2022 and presents the channel's breakfast show.
In 2021, he suffered from chronic pain due to a pinched sciatic nerve and required spinal surgery in September 2022. Two months later he broke his shoulder and was photographed sitting in a wheelchair.
Friends of the couple have reportedly said that Langsford, 64, wanted to announce the split, but Holmes was “in denial” and “never believed Ruth would take the steps to move on.”
It is not the first showbiz conflict Holmes has been involved in, after he was one of the loudest voices heard during Phillip Schofield's high-profile departure from ITV.
Today on The Indo Daily, Tabitha Monahan is joined by Áine Toner, editor-in-chief at the Belfast Telegraph, to discuss the break-up of one of TV's most prominent couples and some of Holmes' controversial opinions that have found a home on GB News.
