The story of Dunedin’s author, Potato, receives royal treatment

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern gave Prince William a copy of her favorite children’s book- Tulips and dougs -When she met him overnight at Kensington Palace in London, local time.

Ardern concludes his trip to Europe and England today.

Dunedin-based writer Emma Wood said she knew about the gift of a royal book when she woke up this morning.

“I really knew everyone else. When I woke up this morning, I had a lot of messages on my cell phone and links to various media articles that Tulips and Doug were presented to Prince William today. I shared.

“So it was a very exciting start to my otherwise very routine Sunday.”

Tulips and dougs It’s a story about a girl who lost her best friend potato.

“It was pretty overwhelming. I also received a lot of messages from friends and fellow authors and educators who congratulate me on that.

“It’s worth mentioning that illustrator Carla Martell is an equal partner in the creation of this book, which is equally exciting for her.

“Today was a very nice day. Everyone is very positive and I’m really excited that this book has been recognized this way.”

Mr Wood said he plans to take out and celebrate tonight.

Ardern previously posted online about this book, “My Real Favorite,” and his daughter’s love for Nave.

Ardern wrote about Prince William’s visit on social media as he was preparing to leave London.

“Today I had the opportunity to catch up with the Duke of Cambridge.

“We talked about a lot, but finally we had the opportunity to share some of the Rugby Women’s World Cup merchandise this year!”

Ardern also met with the leader of opposition Sir Keir Starmer following yesterday’s meeting with Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

Among the achievements of this trip are a new free trade agreement with the European Union and a series of visa changes for New Zealanders visiting and working in the United Kingdom.

“It was a busy but wonderful day,” Ardern wrote.

Ardern was supposed to call Prince Charles, but not at the age of 96 to meet the Queen, who had restricted her engagement.
