The sturgeon was skewered to the Queen’s meeting because she refused to curtsy the monarch | UK | News

In the video of the conference, the Queen bows down and walks into the audience, forgetting the traditional curtsy as a sign of respect for Her Majesty and continuing to wave her hand. The move has sparked criticism on Twitter, especially from former Northern Ireland Prime Minister Arlene Foster.

Ms. Forster questioned Nicola Sturgeon’s decision not to play Curtsy, claiming that meeting the Queen was one of her “greatest privileges” as Prime Minister of NI.

She said, “Why didn’t she do curtsy ?? Curtsy to members of the royal family, including Her Majesty, was one of the greatest privileges I had as Prime Minister of Northern Ireland.”

The news was announced when Ms. Sturgeon launched her second Scottish Independence Referendum campaign, which she wanted to hold on October 19, 2023.

If Scotland becomes an independent state, it will keep Queen Elizabeth II as head of state, SNP’s Westminster leader Ian Blackford said earlier.

He states: “The Queen will continue to be the independent head of state of Scotland.”

However, others have questioned this issue, arguing that a referendum is needed on whether Scotland will maintain its monarchy if it becomes independent.

Patrick Grady of SNP MP insisted in 2020 that “the Scottish people will ultimately decide this.”

The Scottish Prime Minister met the Queen yesterday at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. Ms. Sturgeon is said to have given the Queen a gift, including her limited edition whiskey.

Details of their conversation remain private, but the meeting took place the day after Nicola Sturgeon announced plans for IndyRef 2.

On Tuesday, she announced plans for Holyrood among applause from the SNP people. Surprisingly, she said she had already requested the Scottish Lord Advocate to refer the legality of the unilateral second referendum to the Supreme Court.

She then confirmed that the main defenders did so and the court decided the legality of the referendum.

She states: “Scottish democracy cannot be a prisoner of Boris Johnson or the British Prime Minister. Scottish people must have the right to choose.”

However, others in Holyrood were dissatisfied with the announcement. Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross claimed that Nicola Sturgeon puts the interests of the Scottish people in the “backburner.”

He states: “The real priority of people all over Scotland has been postponed. Instead, the Prime Minister is planning to divide the front and center of Scotland.

“Nikola Sturgeon has reiterated today that selfish attachment to another split referendum of SNPs has always been their top priority. She used government time and resources to us. Promote plans to divide the country when they need to work together as one. “
