THE VIEW’S Whoopi Goldberg has “shame on you” during a furious rant to a local Texas publication over a leaked video of a school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

The shocking surveillance footage shows gunman Salvador Ramos through the corridors of Robb Elementary on 24 May in an attack that left 21 dead.

On Wednesday’s episode of The View, Whoopi spoke about the Austin American-Statesman’s actions for leaking the never-before-seen video.

The daytime talk show host began by admitting, “This story is really driving me crazy.”

She goes on to inform her audience that the Texas newspaper recently released a video of “Uvalde police officers holding up for 77 minutes while the gunman shot 19 students and two teachers.”

Whoopi reveals that “many parents of victims are outraged” [that] This was released, but the newspaper is defending their decision.”

Then speaking to the audience in attendance, the viewers watching at home, and the statesman, Whoopi lets it be known that she “finds it indefensible”.

The TV personality then addresses the Austin American-Statesman directly.

“You forgot that all those sounds are people’s children and you didn’t have to do this.”

She continues: “They were supposed to see this video on Sunday, you didn’t have to release this.”

As her anger and disgust boils over, Whoopi says, “I think it’s terrible and you should be ashamed of yourself.

To be thoughtless of the parents who have to relive this every day because it’s on television.”

Applause from the audience fills the studio as the commentator makes her final comments on the topic.

Whoopi then votes, “I don’t know if you guys have kids at that newspaper, but shame on you.”

She imitates the spitting and repeats again, “Shame on you.”

‘CAN STILL HEAR THE SHOOTING’

Later in the segment, after co-host Alyssa Farrah Griffin shared her thoughts on why she thinks it’s important for the video to be released, Whoopi also shares her response.

Alyssa begins by saying that she “thinks this medium had a duty to make every effort to reach the family to say that they would publish it sooner.”

The co-host then explains that she believes that “justice comes from seeing these things”

“I don’t know if the social justice movement … which has grown so strong in the summer of 2020, would have done it if we had seen those heartbreaking endless images of George Floyd.”

Whoopi interrupts: “I’ve seen police officers take lives on video… I’ve seen it [but] these are children.

We know how many kids, we know they were in there… we knew [the police] didn’t do anything, we knew they weren’t running in there, we knew they were bull–“

Whoopi stops herself from cursing the air before continuing, “…that they weren’t telling the truth.”

“Everything I appreciate except leaking this without telling the parents, without giving them a chance to steal themselves again… these are real people, these are real children who died.”

An exasperated Whoopi ends by saying, “You can still hear the shooting.”

A SCNE OF HORROR

The images were initially viewed by Austin American-Statesman and KVUETony Plohetsky.

Plohetski, an award-winning investigative journalist, said a security camera at the end of a hallway in the school captured “the horror and devastating mistakes of law enforcement.”

A recording of 77 minutes from that camera shows the “clearest accounts” of what happened before and after Ramos killed 19 students and two teachers and left 17 others injured

The American-Statesman reporter said the suspect was seen wearing black with a backpack as he calmly walked into the back entrance of the school with an AR-15.

SHOCKING IMAGES

Shocking images surfaced last month armed Uvalde agents wait outside the classrooms at Robb Elementary School for 46 minutes.

The photos, first published by Texas Tribuneshows the police standing in a row behind shields while holding their weapons.

According to the outlet, the police pictured in the hallway of Robb primary school wanted to get into classrooms 111 and 112 as quickly as possible.

They were photographed at 12:04 p.m. on May 24, 2022, at the end of a hallway, next to the blue-green school walls.

It was not until 12:52 p.m. that Border Patrol officers entered the classrooms and killed the gunman.

The Texas Tribune wrote, “Most video footage from inside the school is captured by a wide-angle camera located in the northwest entrance to the school building, the same camera the shooter used.

Additionally statues near the school showed Ramos approaching the building with what sounded like gunshots in the background.

The video was shared on social media as concerned parents rushed to the school in search of their children.
