Three youths have been referred to Youth Aid after a dairy was looted early Friday morning in Kohimarama, eastern Auckland.
A car drove into the property at about 3:15 a.m. and several groceries were taken, a police spokesman confirmed.
A short time later in Glenn Innes, the police attended a break-in where the car from the dairy incident was seen depart.
The police helicopter followed the vehicle, which was covered with spikes. Three residents ran to a neighboring building.
There they were found and taken to the police station.
The investigation into the identity of a fourth occupant of the vehicle continued, police said.
