Yesterday, the victim’s mother – who declined to be named – said: “Keir Starmer should be ashamed.

“If that man had been evicted, he could never have done this to my daughter.”

Thompson was also convicted of ABH at Shareefah Munro, in Reading on October 5 and sentenced to 20 weeks behind bars.

Sir Keir’s team blamed the Tories for the failure to deport.

A spokesperson said: “The Home Secretary should apologize for the appalling record of deportation of foreign offenders.

“Instead they are excuses for 13 years of Tory law and order failure.”
