Timo Werner says he is looking forward to an 'incredible' season at Tottenham after his loan deal from RB Leipzig was extended.
The Chelsea flop made a shocking return to the Premier League in January when he joined Spurs on a short-term deal.
Tottenham had the option to make the transfer permanent summer for around £15 million, but in a mixed format its future was up in the air.
The attacker adapted well Ange Postecoglou's tactics and provided decent depth, but managed just two goals and three assists in fourteen appearances.
He missed the last month of the season with a thigh injury as his team missed the match Champions League qualifying, with Spurs taking on the Europa League in 2024/25.
It was reported that the club wanted to keep the 28-year-old but only on loan and that news was confirmed on Tuesday.
'We are pleased to announce an agreement that will see Timo Werner rejoin us on loan from RB Leipzig for the 2024/25 season, with an option to make the deal permanent' a statement from Tottenham read.
Werner himself was keen to stay in north London after his form dipped in Leipzig, and sent a message to Spurs fans following the announcement.
'I'm happy to be Spurs next year! Looking forward to seeing you all in the stadium for an incredible season,” he posted on Instagram.
The new buyout clause is said to be worth just £8.5million, with his contract with his parent club currently set to expire in 2026.
Werner will return to full fitness in early June and will have a full pre-season, with Tottenham not selected in the Germany squad for their home Euro 2024.
