Todd Boehly sets out Chelsea’s vision for Tottenham showdown in first program notes since takeover

the health‘s co-owner Todd Boehly has made a rare statement about his plans for the club alongside the various partners who bought the Blues in late May.

The chairman and interim sporting director has committed to investing in ‘quality talent’ as he looks to sign the Barcelona duo Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Frenkie De Jong – alongside Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.

Indeed, he also talks about developing the stadium and continuing the club’s investment in youth, Emma Hayeswomen’s side and the Chelsea Foundation.

Ahead of their first home game against Tottenham, Boehly wrote his first game day program notes, which will become a regular feature during his stay in West London.

“We are delighted and honored to be here with you – your dedication, passion and loyalty have helped keep the Blue Flag flying high,” Boehly wrote.

“There is a simple mantra that guides us every day: we want to win, together and make you proud.

“As one of the world’s elite football clubs, Chelsea is at the top of the game. We want to build on this remarkable history of success by acquiring quality talent in our senior, youth and women’s teams, exploring ways to improve the game-day improve our experience – such as the Bridge and Kingsmeadow – and continue our community service, including the important work of the Chelsea Foundation.

“Today’s game is an opportunity to welcome our new signings to Bridge for the first time as Chelsea players. There is so much to accomplish together.

“The same excitement applies to our women’s team and our academy lineups, both of which are among the very best in the world. We are so proud of their successes and we are eagerly looking forward to next month when Emma Hayes brings the Chelsea Women’s squad here to Bridge to begin their WSL title defense.

“We look forward to Chelsea’s bright future this year – and every year. So let’s sit back and cheer, and let Thomas [Tuchel] and the boys hear us roar.”
