Protective layers

The outer frame is made of a shock absorbing TPU material. It has precise cutouts for the speakers, charger and Top Button. The volume buttons are built into the case, so they are protected when pressed against a table or surface.

Even though there’s no front cover or flap, the iPad screen is still protected from certain hazards thanks to a raised bezel around the edge. If the iPad falls and lands flat screen-down, the case will prevent the screen from hitting a flat surface directly.

The back is made of a robust polycarbonate with a nano-oleophobic layer. The exterior has an anti-smudge matte coating, which also helps keep the case attractive.
