ishi sunak has vowed to tackle “awakened nonsense” and stop “left-wing agitators” in an effort to revive his leadership campaign.
While claiming he has “no interest in fighting a so-called culture war”, the hopeful Tory leadership will pledge to “end the brainwashing, vandalism and finger pointing” and “protect British freedoms” if he becomes prime minister.
Speaking in West Sussex on Saturday, Mr Sunak will say: “What’s the point of putting the bulldozers in the green belt if we allow left-wing agitators to bulldoze our history, our traditions and our fundamental values? ?
“Whether it’s tearing down statues of historical figures, replacing the school curriculum with anti-British propaganda, or rewriting the English language so that we can’t even use words like ‘man’, ‘woman’ or ‘mother’. use without being told that we are offending anyone?”
Tory members will receive their ballots Monday with a YouGov poll of Tory voters showing that Liz Truss leads 62 percent to 38 percent ahead of Mr Sunak.
In another blow to the former chancellor, both Ben Wallace and Tom Tugendhat pledged support for Ms Truss over the past week.
To gain the support of Tory voters and keep pace with his rival, Mr Sunak will also pledge to review the 2010 Equality Act and make it clear that gender self-identification has no legal force.
He also wants to strengthen legal guidelines for schools on how they teach about sex and relationships so that students are “protected from inappropriate material”.
Earlier, Ms Truss spoke out in favor of same-sex spaces and told a large audience on Thursday that she supports a policy that guarantees schoolgirls can go to a toilet in a safe environment.
“I’ve been very clear that single-person spaces need to be protected,” she said.
If elected Prime Minister, Mr Sunak also pledged to protect freedom of expression by amending the public sector equality obligation, which requires government agencies to consider discrimination.
This would be to ensure that organizations are “open and welcoming” to people of different political opinions and religious and philosophical worldviews, “end practices such as no-platforming,” his campaign said.
He added: “We are not the aggressors; we have no interest whatsoever in waging a so-called culture war. But we are determined to end the brainwashing, vandalism and pointing finger.
“Too often existing legislation is used for social engineering that no one has given permission for.
“The worst offender in this regard is the 2010 Equality Act, conceived in the dog days of the last Labor government.
“It has been a Trojan horse that has allowed every kind of waking nonsense to permeate public life.
“It has to stop. My government would review the law to ensure we maintain legitimate protections while stopping mission creep.
“Our laws must protect freedom of speech, prevent biological men from participating in women’s sports and allow children to be children.”
In an interview with Andrew Neil on Friday, Mr Sunak said saud Mrs Truss£30bn tax cut plans would “fuel the fire” of inflation and creating a “sugar rush” in the couple’s ongoing economic clash.
Mr Sunak told Andrew Neil that tackling the debt incurred by Covid is not about going on a “borrowing” or passing the bills to the next generation.
“I think it is absolutely the right choice not to add fuel to the recession fire that we already have,” he said.
