Prime Minister Christopher Pincher resigned after writing a letter to the Prime Minister to apologize for his drunken and embarrassing feelings.

The Deputy Leader’s resignation to Boris Johnson on Thursday said:

“I confused myself and others. That’s the last thing I want to do, and for that I apologize to you and the people involved.

“I think the right thing to do in this situation is to resign Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Whip. I have an obligation to you and the people I upset to do this.

“I want to assure you that you will continue my full support from the back bench, and that you do your best when you deal with the aftershocks of Covid and the challenges of international inflation. hoping.

“It is an honor in my life to serve His Majesty’s Government.”

Pincher, who has been a member of parliament since 2010, reportedly groped for two men on Wednesday night.

He was at the Carlton Club, a private Tory club in Piccadilly, when he was allegedly attacked by two fellow guests.

This isn’t the first time a Tamworth MP has resigned in a scandal.

In 2017, Pincher left the Whips office and introduced him to police after allegedly making an unwanted pass in Alex Story, a former Olympic rower and conservative activist.

Just hours before Thursday’s resignation was revealed, Pincher posted a video on Twitter discussing the rebuilding of the George Brian Center in Tamworth after the fire.

He said the local NHS Trust has decided to close the center and centralize all mental services at St. George’s Hospital in Stafford.

“It’s really very disappointing,” he said.
