Tottenham boss Antonio Conte lashes out at Bayern ‘disrespectful’ over Harry Kane’s courtship

Antonio Conte has lashed out at Bayern Munich’s “disrespect” after the German champions made public their admiration for Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

Reports in Germany claimed Bayern looked at Kane before Julian Nagelsmann added fuel to the fire by hailing Kane as a “brilliant player”, adding: “He could score a lot in the Bundesliga.”

Conte, who saw Kane score twice on Saturday to secure a 2-1 comeback win at Rangers, was unimpressed. “I’m a coach who doesn’t talk about players from other teams,” he said after the game.

“The situation at Tottenham is very clear. The plan is very clear at the club. Harry is part of the project. He is a very important part of the project.

“At the same time, I repeat, I don’t like to talk about players from another club. If I want to do something, I’m going to talk to the club, not through the media. I think it might be a bit disrespectful to the other club. This is my way. This is my way of dealing with the situation with other players.”

Kane’s double in the win over Ibrox maintained his perfect preseason start, scoring in all three of Tottenham’s friendlies.
Conte had even more reason to cheer with all his six summer signings – Djed Spence, Clement Lenglet, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Ivan Perisic – in Glasgow.
