Travis Barker was ‘admitted to hospital for pancreatitis’ after undergoing a colonoscopy that ‘activated’ the condition, it was revealed.
The 46-year-old Blink 182 drummer remains under medical care at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, where his new wife Kourtney Kardashian is by his side.
According to TMZ, Travis’ doctors believe that his pancreatitis – which is an inflammation of the pancreas – was’ activated ‘by a recent colonoscopy.
Sources tell the website that Barker recently underwent the colonoscopy exam, which is usually performed to look for changes such as swollen, irritated tissues, polyps or colon cancer.
Treatment will usually require hospitalization and may start abruptly and last for days, or in some cases over many years. The condition can also be caused by gallstones or chronic and heavy alcohol use.

Symptoms of pancreatitis include upper abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
The star was taken by ambulance to a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday after suffering from the medical problem, with his new wife Kourtney by his side when he arrived at a local West Hills facility.
He was later transferred in an ambulance to Cedars Sinai Medical Center – while Kourtney, 43, followed in her Range Rover.
A colonoscopy can be life-saving as it allows your doctor to check the inside of your colon and rectum for cancer and polyps, growths that can be early signs of cancer.
However, although it is considered a fairly safe examination, it is not without risk and the most common side effect is stomach pain, cramps or the feeling of being bloated afterwards.
According to the National Library of Medicine, the likely underlying mechanism of pancreatitis after a colonoscopy is blunt trauma to the pancreas.
The procedure is performed using a long, flexible tube called a colonoscope with which your doctor can check the inside of your entire colon (colon).

The proposal came exactly a year after they ‘hooked’ for the first time, after several years of friendship.
