Open Doors can be downloaded by Truecaller users, who can then sign up to start using the app with a simple tap. To sign in, you must confirm your phone number via a missed call or a OTP if you are not already using the Caller ID service. According to the company, Open Doors only needs access to your contact list and microphone to enable real-time audio chatting and match users with their friends. Not only that, users participating in a discussion cannot see the phone numbers of other participants.
Open Doors users have the freedom to enter and exit chats as they please. When you join or start a chat, the app will let your friends know. After receiving the notification, your friends can choose to join the conversation by clicking on the warning notification or by visiting a link that can be shared independently. Once your friends have signed up, the app will notify those friends in a similar manner, and so the invite cycle continues.
In addition, the company stated that the conversations are not stored anywhere and are moderated by the community. According to true caller, Open Doors user interface is available in English, Hindi, Spanish, Latin and French. At the customer’s request, the company said more languages may be added in the future.
Truecaller’s co-founder and chief strategy officer, Nami Zarringhalam, said: “Thanks to Truecaller’s 13 years in the business, we’ve spent a lot of time learning about how people communicate. Our new app, Open Doors, was born from a simple question: how can we help people make new connections without being intrusive? And this is what we want to do: bridge the world with the most natural form of communication, our voices.”
