Ex-president Donald Trump behind closed doors allegedly promised to deport pro-Palestinian demonstrators to college campuses.

Trump made the promise to donors during a roundtable discussion if he were to win November's presidential election New York earlier this month, participants said The Washington Post.

“One thing I do is, any student who protests, I throw them out of the country,” Trump reportedly said on May 14.

'You know, there are a lot of foreign students. As soon as they hear that, they start behaving.'

Trump said he would defeat the “radical revolution” after a donor complained that pro-Palestinian students and professors behind the demonstrations might hold U.S. government positions in the future.

“Well, if you get me elected, and you really should, if you get me re-elected, we're going to set that movement back 25 or 30 years,” Trump said, according to the anonymous donors.

The former president and presumptive 2024 Republican nominee also, as he has done many times before, praised the New York Police Department for breaking up the protests at Columbia University, saying: similar demonstrations in other cities must 'be stopped now'.

Trump joked to donors that the group at the private event included “98% of my Jewish friends,” The Post reported Monday.

Publicly, Trump has gone back and forth on whether Israel should continue to wage its war in Gaza. But at the meeting in New York, Trump reportedly said he supports Israel in “its war on terror.”

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Metro.co.uk on the report.

Karoline Leavitt, the campaign's national press secretary, told The Post: “When President Trump is back in the Oval Office, Israel will be protected again, Iran will go bankrupt again, terrorists will be hunted and the bloodshed will end.”

Trump has spent a significant amount of time in New York, where closing arguments in his ongoing hush-money criminal case are set to begin Monday. On Thursday he held a rally in the deep blue Bronx neighborhood, where he again attacked migrants claimed they were 'giving America the middle finger'.
