Tube passenger ‘who tried to kill woman by pulling her onto the track at King’s Cross station’ has been remanded in custody

  • Arthur Hawrylewicz, 41, tried to kill Maria Osifeso on August 29
  • He will now be assessed by a psychiatrist to determine if he is mentally ill
  • His next court hearing is on November 7 at the Inner London Crown Court

A man accused of murdering a woman by leading her onto the trail of theā€¦ London Underground has been placed in custody.

Arthur Hawrylewicz, 41, reportedly attempted to kill Maria Osifeso during the terrifying incident on the Hammersmith and City Line at King’s Cross station on August 29.

Hawrylewicz appeared at the Old Bailey on Wednesday via a video link of HMP Wandsworth in a gray tracksuit.

A psychiatrist will now determine whether he is mentally ill.

Hawrylewicz, from Cardiff, has made no plea to the charge of attempted murder.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before the Inner London Crown Court on November 7.

British Transport Police previously said officers were called at 1:26 p.m. on Monday 29 August following reports of a “serious incident”.

They said a man allegedly tried to pull a woman onto the train tracks before being hit by a train himself.

Hawrylewicz is said to have injured herself, while the woman was miraculously unharmed, but still ‘shaken’.

CCTV footage from inside the underground car is being examined by specialists, a court heard earlier.
