Ukraine LIVE: Putin’s attack potential was drastically reduced as Ukrainian missiles devastated his army | World | News

Ukraine has used the now famous Western-supplied HIMARS and M270 multiple missile systems to strike far behind the Russian front lines. The strategy of attacking Russian command posts and ammunition depots appeared to be paying off after the Kremlin’s offensive stalled over the past week.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzianzk claimed that more than 30 such storage and command sites had been hit, significantly reducing Russia’s “attack potential”.

He said: “In recent weeks, more than 30 of the enemy’s military logistics facilities have been destroyed, significantly reducing the attack potential of Russian forces.”

After the bloody Russian attempt to take Luhansk, Russian forces are believed to have taken an operational break to rest and regroup their soldiers, but Ukraine has made this difficult with near-night artillery strikes far behind the lines.

The new artillery can hit much farther and more accurately than older Soviet systems and has proved crucial to the Ukrainian war effort.
