Unbelievable moment when farmer desperately tries to slow down a raging forest fire to save his neighbor’s house

A HERO farmer saved his neighbor’s house from a raging wildfire by fearlessly plowing crops around the blaze.

As firefighters arrived on the scene, Farmer Bill Alexander “quickly stepped in” and dealt with the inferno himself.

The massive crop fire broke out in a field near Maidstone, Kent, in mid-afternoon Saturday.

Flames could be seen from miles away as the wildfire quickly spread across nearly 20 acres.

When the wind turned, the inferno moved at breakneck speed toward a house before brave neighbor Bill sprang into action.

Footage shows the farmer incredibly using his tractor to tear through the fire’s path, just meters away from the blaze.

The video was shot by ranch owner Andy Barr, who praised his “good neighbor” for his fearless act of bravery.

He wrote: “Please tell everyone to be careful what they do along roads and trails, 20 acres of spring barley in flames.

“This photo of my son was when the wind turned to my brother’s house, luckily Bill Alexander and Jonny & Ellie from TCAgri saved the day.”

The wildfire raged for 90 minutes before it was extinguished, but fortunately all local residents got out safely.

A fire service spokesman said: “We received reports of a standing fire in fields on Lenham Heath.

“The crew worked hard to bring the fire under control, which covered approximately eight hectares, the equivalent of almost 20 hectares.

“The fire has been brought under control and extinguished. The fire brigade has escorted people who were in the area to safety. There are no reports of injuries.”

Yesterday’s bushfire was the latest in a series of fires that have erupted as a result of… record heat wave from last week.
