A FORMER BBC photographer claims he has an explosive photo of Prince Andrew that would rock the monarchy if it were ever released.
Mark Harrison, who was working for the broadcaster when… the duke of york gave his car accident Newsnight interview, has declined to reveal more details about the snap.
But he warned it would “embarrass” both the prince and the royal family. the mail on sunday reports.
And he has hinted that it might still be in an upcoming movie about how the BBC scored the humiliating chat.
During the now infamous interviewthe duke claimed he is unable to sweat and wash in a Pizza Express in Woking, Surrey one night, prosecutor Virginia Giuffre claims he had sex with her.
It is alleged that Andrew, which was spotted by Windsor yesterdayhas insisted that the photo never be released.
But because the new film will be a dramatization, producers may feel free to recreate their own version of the “stunning” image, the paper reports.
A source close to the Newsnight interview saw the original photo — and says it’s “shocking,” especially when taken out of context.
“Our jaws dropped when we saw it,” they said.
“It would embarrass Andrew a lot — and imagine how high the bar must be to embarrass him after all that’s happened.”
The duke was effectively banned from the royal family earlier this year – weeks before he settled the US civil case with Mrs. Giuffre.
He has spent a reported £12 millionalthough the settlement is not an admission of guilt.
Andrew vehemently denies any wrongdoing – particularly in the interview with Emily Maitlis.
He was accused of having sex with Mrs Giuffre three times.
Mr Harrison said his photo would be a “big deal” for the… Royal familyand has been seen by only a few people.
And the source claims Britons would “drop their cereal” if they saw it.
Shooting will begin on Scoop in November, which is based on a new book by Newsnight producer Sam McAlister. Hugh Grant is lined up to play Andrew.
A TV insider said: “The makers of this film clearly see this historic interview as the turning point in Andrew’s catastrophic fall.
“Like the Frost/Nixon movie, watching the lead-up to the interview will show in detail how Emily forensically ripped apart the royal family — and got some reactions that were as shocking as they were bizarre.”
The prince’s spokeswoman declined to comment on the photo last night and the BBC did not respond to a request.
