Urgent repairs to slip near the Parnell train line are reducing services across Auckland

Commuters can expect delays and changes to the services of all Auckland trains after a slip was found near the railway line in Parnell.

The slip, a persistent trouble of recent stormswas found Sunday afternoon, Auckland Transport said,

KiwiRail is carrying out urgent repairs on site. Services will be limited to one track between Britomart and Newmarket.

Buses will replace rail to reach Britomart from Newmarket, Panmure, Glen Innes and Ōtāhuhu.

The Eastern Line will also be a 20 minute frequency service all day and the Western Line service will terminate at Newmarket. Commuters will need to transfer to the Southern Line to continue travelling.

Onehunga Line travelers will also need to transfer to the Southern Line as all services only run between Penrose and Onehunga.

The Southern Line will reopen on Monday, after work under the KiwiRail Newtwork rebuiltbut during rush hour any other train will take the Eastern Line to Britomart due to the slip.
