Pioneering energy technology investment firm leads $9 million capital raise; Promotes urgent sustainable solutions for a changing world
IRVINE, California & HOUSTON, Texas — Innovator in rooftop wind energy Aeromine Technologies has announced that it has completed a financing round of approximately $9 million to accelerate the rollout of its groundbreaking, motionless, on-site wind energy solution. Veriten, the energy research, investment and strategy firm, is the lead investor in the Series A financing round. Other investors in the round include global engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti and family offices.
Aeromine will take advantage of the latest investment round to expand its reach through increased production scale and global market development.
At a time when maximizing on-site generation and transitioning to clean energy is more important than ever, Aeromine has created a patented rooftop wind harvesting platform that harnesses the power of wind for smaller footprints, including commercial buildings, at a competitive cost. Aeromine thus contributes to the global shift to renewable energy sources.
Unlike large onshore and offshore wind farms, the space-saving Aeromine units are mounted on the edge of a building's roof and have no external moving parts or blades. Aeromine units capture the wind flowing over and over the building and convert it into electricity on site.
Aeromine can help owners of apartment buildings, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, offices, hospitals, shopping centers and virtually any large building with a flat, unobstructed roof produce up to 100 percent of their energy needs on-site. The technology uses aerodynamics similar to the wing profiles of a racing car to capture and amplify each building's airflow to generate energy 24 hours a day. Systems typically consist of 20 to 40 units installed on the edge of a building and facing the prevailing wind direction.
Since its launch at the end of 2022, when Aeromine was recognized as one of the best of the year Top 200 InventionsThe technology has been featured in numerous media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, Fast Company and the Washington Post, and was also named one of the Best Construction Products of 2023 by Building Design+ Construction. Aeromine is also part of the AEC Angels portfolio , an investment platform consisting of market leaders and technology investors from the Architecture, Engineering and Construction sectors.
Aeromine has received nearly 11,000 applications from more than 6,500 companies and currently has a pipeline of 400 qualified projects. These customers, primarily in the industrial, logistics, financial (portfolio owners/developers), automotive, commercial and government sectors, are evenly distributed across Europe and the US, with additional interest from the Asia Pacific, Latin America and Australia / New Zealand.
Aeromine's motionless, silent units are designed to produce energy independently or integrate seamlessly with existing solar panels and easily adapt to existing electrical infrastructure. Because the power is generated on site, Aeromine eliminates interruptions in power supply due to instability of supply and demand on the electricity grid or the environmental impacts of extreme weather events associated with the transportation of energy.
“Distributed energy is an important and increasingly strategic element in an evolving 'all of the above' energy mix,” said Maynard Holt, founder and CEO of Veriten. “We believe distributed energy innovation will play a critical role in helping businesses meet their need for reliable, reasonably priced electricity and their desire for low-impact energy. We are excited to partner with Aeromine because its ability to quickly and affordably help a wide variety of companies meet their energy needs with wind energy is unique among distributed energy solutions.”
About Aeromine Technologies
Aeromine Technologies has developed a breakthrough, scalable renewable energy solution that harnesses the power of wind in an efficient system. Aeromine units are installed on the edge of the building roof and are motionless, vibrationless and noiseless. System installations are usually 50 kW or larger. The solution is robust, sustainable and requires much less roof space than other distributed energy generation options. Ideal for large buildings with flat roofs including warehouses, major retailers, data centers, office and apartment buildings. Aeromine leverages existing financial structures, installation resources and incentives created by the solar industry.
