Vodafone Idea (Vi), the third largest telecommunications operator in India, announced that it was the leading subscriber growth in the Delhi circuit. With the data from TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), Vi said that in March and April 2022 it added more than 3.3 lakh subscribers in Delhi. According to the latest data published by the regulator, Delhi is still the place with the maximum tele-density, with a growth of 1.48% MoM, which achieves a tele-density level of 269.08%.
In terms of net subscriber addition in April, Delhi was the third largest circle in India, with 4,00,479 users. For two months in a row, Vi added the most subscribers in Delhi, India.
How many subscribers added Vodafone idea in Delhi in April 2022?
In April 2022, Vodafone Idea added 2,55,857 subscribers in Delhi. The largest foot of 63.89% of the circle’s overall net subscriber addition was done by Vi alone. The company also showed a similar trend in March, adding 76,320 subscribers, the highest among all telcoes.
This is a positive sign for the telco, as Delhi people are likely to prioritize the services of Vodafone Idea over the other telcoes. However, it is noteworthy that TRAI data during April 2022 also said that Vodafone Idea in general lost 1.56 million subscribers across the country.
At the same time, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio added subscribers. Despite all this, the active telecommunications subscribers’ figure fell for the entire industry during the month, with all the operators losing VLR subscribers.
Vodafone Idea will take any positives out of the performance and will try to build on that. So while he has been the top subscriber-adding operator in Delhi for two consecutive months, the telecommunications company also needs to start performing in the other circles to give its investors something to smile about.
