To allow users to download their mobile app for charging, Vodafone Idea (Vi) offers them a small incentive. The telco has revealed on its website that it is offering up to Rs 50 cashback + 30 reward coins if the user downloads and recharges through the Vi app. Nowadays, there are so many third-party mobile applications available for users to charge mobile. But Vi wants users to come to its mobile app and charge from there. Note: you can only charge Vodafone idea songs via the Vi app.
Why does Vi want users to charge via the app?
This is because Vodafone Idea has invested in building its mobile app into a super app. The super app is implied that the company wants it to act as a super platform for everything a consumer wants.
Vi has entered into multiple partnerships to provide users with music from within the app, search for jobs, and play games. The company wants users to come to its platform so that it can consume the traffic on the app and monetize it by forming partnershipsAs mentioned above.
Vodafone Idea does not want to leave anything to chance and wants to earn from every possible vertical. The mobile app is just one of the platforms that allow the telco to make some pretty fast bucks and is already doing so.
Even Jio and Airtel load their mobile applications with a lot of different products and services. In fact, Airtel has a full-fledged banking experience for customers in the Airtel Thanks app.
All the telcos are looking for some additional revenue through the existing customer base, which is measured in millions upon millions of customers. In the coming days, all telcos will continue to try to encourage customers to use their apps for charging and more.
