It’s been a rough few months being a McDonald’s fan.
From last summer’s tragic milkshake shortage to the more recent devastating missing tomatoes in Teesside, the chain has had several minor supply chain problems.
In any case, it wasn’t as bad as the Great KFC shortage of 2018, but there were fears it could be headed that way.
And now signs have appeared in some branches warning of a shortage of ingredients – like this one in King’s Road, Chelsea, South London.
“Due to supply chain challenges, some menu items may be served with some ingredients missing and others temporarily unavailable,” the sign reads.
“We apologize in advance to all affected customers and thank you for your patience.”
Metro.co.uk contacted a McDonald’s spokesperson, who said the chain was having general supply problems.
A statement from McDonald’s said: “Like most retailers, we are currently experiencing pressure in our supply chain that can sometimes affect a small number of our menu items in certain restaurants.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and thank our customers for their patience. We are working hard to resolve the issues as quickly as possible.”
The spokesperson confirmed the signs are appearing in other locations, but added that the delivery issues did not affect specific items on the menu or area.
So hopefully you’ll be able to get your McDonald’s this weekend… but it could be a gamble if everything is available.
