Romanian media claim that he was later diagnosed with enterocolitis, an inflammation of the intestines that can cause various infections.

Tate’s family is quoted in the piece as saying that Andrew has lost a significant amount of weight after two months in the “hellhole” Central Detention Center called the “Royal Cellar”.

A relative said: “They get a package, they still eat what they get, but they complain about the appalling conditions they live in.

“I insist it’s unlivable there, that it’s full of rats, cockroaches, that they’re full of fleas and lice.

“They say they’ve never seen so much filth in their life. They’re used to a different life, of course Tristan got sick.

“Both have lost a lot of weight, Andrew has lost nearly ten kilograms.”

But a spokesman for the Tates has denied that Tristan was taken to hospital.

They told The Sun: “Andrew and Tristan Tate are in good health and focused on next week’s appeal against the most recent extension decision.

“No one except their lawyer has access to the brothers while they are in detention, so we dispute the authenticity of the quote in the Romanian news outlet Cancan.”

Andrew and his brother Tristan were arrested as part of a human trafficking investigationrape and organized crime.

They are accused of recruiting women on social media platforms and persuade them to travel to their £600,000 villa on the outskirts of the country’s capital Bucharest.

The brothers allegedly falsely claimed to be in love with the young women before they made them perform sexual acts on webcams.

Women were forced to film porn videos in the compound and, according to Romanian investigators, were kept under house arrest 24/7.

Romanian authorities have reported that they have identified six alleged victims in the case who were victims of “acts of physical violence and mental coercion” and of “sexual exploitation”.

When can Andrew and Tristan Tate be released?

Andrew and his brother Tristan were initially Detained for 30 days after their arrest on December 29, 2022.

Tate was seen holding a copy of the Quran as he entered and exited its first appeal hearing – which was rejected – after his conversion to Islam.
