The aftermath of a Mercedes-Benz hatchback crashing into a basketball court.
Basketball players at a sports center in Belgium were supposed to buy Lotto tickets last week when a Mercedes-Benz hatchback crashed through the wall of their court after flying almost 50 meters from a nearby roundabout.
The accident was captured from outside the gym just after an indoor practice session ended and most of the players were in the locker room. We can see the car launching from the roundabout, spinning in the air before crashing through the wall.
Images on the court show shocked players staring at the four-wheeled rocket. There were no players on that side of the field when the Mercedes hit and no one else was injured.
Except for the driver, as you might expect, who was identified as Moroccan footballer Sofian Kiyine and taken to hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Images posted to Twitter show the damage to the gym’s exterior wall and interior, with a support beam almost split in two.
The accident is the second in as many weeks in which cars rocketed into the air in a remarkable way. Last week, a Kia Soul was nearly launched into orbit after a wheel came loose from a nearby truck and got stuck under the hatchback.
According to reports, the driver of the Kia escaped with minor injuries, which is quite remarkable given the magnitude of the crash. It appears that the airbags deployed as soon as the wheel settled under the car, which would have done a lot to reduce the potential damage to the driver.
Social media users were quick to blame the driver of the truck, commenting: “These people who modify trucks in that way are risking lives…could have ended much worse.”
