West Ham XI vs Anderlecht: starting line-up, team news confirmed, last injury for Europa Conference League

W

is Ham are tonight without Maxwel Cornet, who did not travel to Belgium for the Europa Conference League clash with Anderlechtwho had been sidelined with a calf problem.

Cornet got his first Premier League start since his summer signing from Burnley in Saturday’s win over Wolves, but was forced out before half time with the injury.

“Maxwell Cornet hasn’t traveled,” Hammers boss David Moyes said. “He has a bit of a calf problem. We don’t know how long it will keep him out at this point, but we don’t think it’s too serious.

“It was hard because we want Maxi, we want to try to get him up to speed and again, he was another guy who didn’t have preseason games, didn’t do a lot in preseason so we’re trying to beat him and he has contributed in quite a few games at the moment.

“These are the kind of games where you can give these guys an opening and a great opportunity to play, show what they can do, but we don’t have Maxi.”

Moroccan defender Nayef Aguerd also remains sidelined but is pushing for a return for the World Cup, while 16-year-old midfielder Oliver Scarles has made the trip to Brussels with Moyes’s first team and is sitting on the bench.

There are a total of nine changes to Moyes’ starting XI, with only Craig Dawson and Jarrod Bowen retaining their places.
