Spotify is currently working on updates – not content with giving us the Karaoke feature, they are currently running Supergrouper.

The update – following people like Spotify Wrapped, the advent of lyrics and the ability to hide and hide songs – has only just begun rolling out to iOS and Android users around the world, so it’ll be on your phone soon come if you have not yet.

What is Spotify Supergrouper?

Supergrouper is simply a feature that creates playlists for you based on your ‘dream band’ – that is, all your favorite artists put together in a fictional group, with a playlist inspired by your choices.

The feature gives you the ability to also select the roles for each of your favorite artists within the ‘band’ – including ‘the lead role’, ‘the lyricist’ and the ‘wildcard’

Alternatively, you can get Spotify to make the artists random for you, depending on your listening habits.

You can also name the ‘supergroup’ – and when it’s done, you can enjoy the playlist Spotify creates for you based on the information.

The app will also give you a custom map to share with family and friends on social media.

How to get Supergrouper on Spotify

First things first, you need to make sure your Spotify application is up to date – so make sure you have the latest version on your iPhone or Android device.

You then click on the ‘Supergrouper’ banner you will see on the Spotify homepage, press ‘start’ and choose how many artists you want in your group – you can have up to five.

Once you have selected a role for each artist and given your group a name – even though it is optional – simply tap the ‘My Supergroup Mix’ option and your playlist will be ready.
