YOUR WhatsApp is about to make a big difference – and that’s great news for anyone in an annoying group chat.
Group discussions are really helpful, but sometimes it can be a royal pain.
Maybe it’s a chat that’s old but still revives, one that has too many people, or a conversation that’s very active but you just do not care.
Some of these group chats you will probably want to leave.
But unfortunately, everyone is warned when you fall out – making a quiet exit impossible.
Fortunately, WhatsApp is working to fix this, as revealed by the detectives at WABetaInfo.
The technology analysts have exploited the “beta” test version of WhatsApp to unveil a new feature “under development”.
It is the ability to leave groups silently.
This means that when you leave a group, almost no one will know.
The only people who find out are group administrators – the people who run the chat.
There is one version of this feature that allows you to see previous participants in a chat.
So you can still be potentially exposed, although the feature may eventually change.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to say exactly when WhatsApp will release this major app update.
It can take days, weeks or months – and can even be completely deleted if WhatsApp owner Meta is not happy with it.
In the meantime, if you want to try all the latest WhatsApp features first, consider joining the beta using our guide below.
How to get WhatsApp beta
To download WhatsApp beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.
Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.
Tap the “I’m in” button and then click “Join” to confirm.
All you have to do now is wait for the update to the beta version of the application.
It is more difficult to connect to the WhatsApp beta on iOS for iPhone and has limited capacity.
