Have you ever been in a predicament where you really wanted to unsend a message but couldn’t do it because the closing time was over? So WhatsApp will slightly reduce your troubles now. The messaging app is currently proposing to extend the time limitation of the “Delete for me” feature. WhatsApp is developing some intriguing features that will simplify tasks for users. Rumor has it that WhatsApp will soon extend the time users have to delete messages after they have been sent.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will extend the allotted time for the “Delete for me” feature. Users can currently delete messages they have sent up to one hour, eight minutes, and 16 seconds after the message is delivered. However, WhatsApp will soon allow users to delete text messages even after two days. Therefore, users have two hours from the time of transmission to permanently delete the communication. A message “this message has been deleted” will appear in your chat box after the message has been deleted.
Not only that, the WhatsApp feature tracker reveals that some iOS beta testers were able to delete messages between two days and twelve hours after sending. WABetaInfo also published a screenshot of the new functionality, showing how it would work if it were made available to more people.
“We know that the previous limit was 1 hour, 8 minutes, and 16 seconds, but as you can see in this screenshot, we tried to delete a message that was sent more than an hour before and the option “delete for everyone” appeared still, so this is the best way to check if the feature is already available for your whatsapp account. If “remove for everyone” doesn’t show up, don’t worry — there’s another beta update coming that will make the feature available to your account,” the report said.
WABetaInfo also said WhatsApp will soon include a feature that allows group admins to delete messages from individual members. In other words, the administrator can remove them from the system permanently if you put something in the group that offends the group members. The features are currently being worked on and will be released in a future release.
