WhatsApp today released a new feature: the ability to record voice status updates that last up to one minute.
Previously, the app gained support for sharing videos of up to one minute in length via status updates, and now the same length can be used for voice notes to match your statuses.
Before today, if you wanted to share a voice note on your status page, it had to be 30 seconds or less. So effectively you now have double the time.
The new feature should roll out to the latest version of WhatsApp on both iOS and Android. Please note that you may need the latest version of the app not only to take longer voice notes but also to listen to them.
WhatsApp seems very intent on improving the Status feature lately, so don't be surprised if new additions are added in the future.
