The island 2022 is in full swing and one of the bombs that have penetrated the villa is Jacques O’Neill.
Originally from Cumbria, the 23-year-old star is also reportedly the ex-partner of Liverpool striker Michael Owen’s daughter, Gemma, who has been in the series since it began last week.
In the teaser for Sunday night’s show, she could be heard saying, “Oh my gosh, that’s my ex-boyfriend.”
Asked why he was single in an interview released by the show, he said: “I broke up with my ex and then I saw someone else. I focused so much on my rugby and then I got that injury. I think that it has to be the right person at the right time.”

Speaking about going on the show, he said: “I’ll bring laughter. I’m very honest – I don’t beat around the bush. Just good vibes.”
The star also said he would like to have a baby “within two or three years”, adding: “I think I’d be good with babies too. They’d look good, wouldn’t they?”
He also revealed why he thinks he is such a catch, saying that he is “loyal, respectful” and that he has “good manners”.
The sportsman described what gives him the “ick” saying, “People are singing Christmas carols! I saw this girl and it was just before Christmas and she started singing Christmas carols in the car and it went through my mind – it gave me the ick bad .”
On whether it takes a long time for him to fall in love, he said he literally knows if a girl will be his girlfriend “within a week”, and that he “falls pretty quickly”.
