Love Island 2022 has certainly brought the drama with walk-outs, blazing rows, secret flings and shock twists.

New bombshells have rocked the villa – namely this season’s shocking ‘ultimate bombshell’ Adam Collard – and Casa Amor shook things up considerably, with a dramatic number of recouplings.

However, the series has been keeping viewers entertained for weeks now, which means some islanders have already left the villa – with another brutal dumping rocking the villa just days before the final.

Read on to find out who’s left the current season so far, when they left, and the reason for their departure.

Who has left Love Island 2022?

Liam Llewellyn – Day five

Original Love Island 2022 contestant Liam Llewelyn left the villa after just five days.

The Welsh student, who is doing a Masters degree in Strength and Conditioning, rounded the rest of the islanders up by the firepit in scenes aired on Friday, June 10.

Despite being paired with Gemma Owen – who was stolen by bombshell Davide Sanclimenti  – and having dates with bombshells Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Afia Tonkmor, he was struggled to find a partner.

In emotional scenes, he told fellow contestants: ‘I don’t really think I’ve been giving 100 per cent Liam; I’m miles off that.

‘Trying to find someone you leave the villa with that you care about – obviously that’s the goal, isn’t it? But when you‘re not feeling that, it makes it a hard sort of time to find that.’

‘This isn’t a spur-of-the-moment type of thing, so yeah I’ve made a decision that I am going to leave the villa. It’s been a breeze – it’s been an absolute ball. You’re all unreal.’

Since leaving the villa, he has finally discovered that Gemma is the daughter of footballer Michael Owen.

He told host Laura Whitmore on Love Island: Aftersun: ‘I’m a United fan. I actually have one of his tops when he came to the club.’

Liam also gushed over the support he has received since choosing to leave the villa, adding: ‘It’s a big eye-opener for me how many people had my back.’

Afia Tonkmor – Day eight

Bombshell Afia Tonkmor was dumped from the Love Island villa (Picture: ITV)

Afia Tonkmor was the second contestant to leave Love Island 2022 after entering only days before.

The 25-year-old bombshell stepped into the villa with Ekin-Su, and failed to couple up with any of the fellow contestants.

Though islanders managed to avoid one dumping with Liam walking out by choice, producers left the islanders stunned with a text.

Sadly, Afia faced a surprise dumping on Monday, June 13, alongside Paige Thorne as they were both single.

It was then down to Gemma’s ex-boyfriend Jacques O’Neill to pick which of the two contestants to save.

After a tense few minutes by the fire pit, he opted to save Paige, meaning Afia had to leave the Love Island villa after some hugs from pals.

Upon leaving, Afia said: ‘Obviously I’m going to miss everyone in the Villa but I’m going to keep trying to find love.

‘I’m sure Mr Right is out there somewhere.’

While the Love Island star has no regrets, she explained: ‘I’ve learned that I can be a bit shy and it takes me a bit of time to come out of my shell. But I maybe learned to put myself out there a bit more. I did learn a few things.

‘I feel like I stayed true to myself so I’d do things the same.’

Remi Lambert – Day 14

Remi Lambert was dumped from the Love Island villa (Picture: ITV)

Love Island bombshell Remi Lambert had a brief stint in the villa alongside 28-year-old Jay Young.

The Mancunian contestant is a model who has worked with the likes of Mercedes Benz and Primark, and also rapped during his appearances on the show.

After entering the villa, Remi made a beeline for coupled-up Indiyah Polack and enjoyed dates with her, Paige, and Ekin-Su.

Sadly for the 22-year-old, Indiyah chose her original partner Ikenna over him amid the shock recoupling on June 19.

While packing his bags in the villa, he said: ‘That plane back’s going to be sad.’

And, after walking out with his suitcase, the islander added: ‘My sight is set on finding love. That’s what my intention was coming here, but I’ve had a great time coming on this.’

He appeared to be distraught during his interview on Love Island: Aftersun on Sunday evening, after being dumped from the villa.

Upon being asked how it felt to be out, he told host Laura Whitmore: ‘It’s gutting. I’m just happy I got to meet Jay.

‘That’s an experience of a lifetime, walking in with my guy. But it’s tough.’

Ikenna Ekwonna – Day 16

Ikenna Ekwona left the villa in a shocking double elimination (Picture: ITV)

Ikenna Ekwonna was dumped from the villa as part of a shocking double elimination.

On Day 15, viewers had to deal with a nail-biting cliffhanger after it was revealed that Ikenna alongside Amber BeckfordEkin-Su CülcüloğluTasha GhouriAndrew Le Page, and Jay Younger were at risk of elimination, and it was left to the public vote to decide who got the boot.

It was later announced that Ikenna would be one of two people leaving the villa.

Despite not feeling a romantic connection with Ikenna, Indiyah broke down in tears after it was revealed Ikenna would be leaving, covering her eyes as she was consoled by Paige.

‘I’ve already sent someone home, and then two people that I’m really close with…,’ she said while crying, trailing off as she received a hug from her friends.

After his exit, Ikenna said that he believes Indiyah’s next step will be spending more time with Dami ‘and seeing where that takes them both’ – and he sounds incredibly supportive of their potential relationship.

‘I was pretty close to the both of them. They’re both my mates. If that works out, that’ll be pretty sick to see on TV. 100% [I want to see it play out],’ he said.

‘I feel like they have quite similar personalities. I feel like they’ll be a good match.’

He was right in his prediction as sparks flew between the pair, though they both recoupled following Casa Amor.

Amber Beckford – Day 16

Amber Beckford was the second islander dumped in a shocking double elimination decided by the public.

Her exit left partner Dami single, but he quickly showed an interest in pursuing a romantic relationship with fellow single islander Indiyah Polack.

Amber’s departure came after she appeared in explosive scenes in recent nights, including getting into a scathing row with fellow islander Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.

Amber’s family decided to deactivate her Twitter account after she was sent abusive messages following the fiery argument.

After her exit was aired, they posted a statement on her Twitter account, which said: ‘Hey all, Ambers [sic] time in the villa has come to an end. We have received some lovely comments & messages and thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

‘However as most of you are probably aware of some of the vile tweets, messages and post’s [sic] that are being written about Amber. As Amber’s family and friends this has been extremely hard to see and sometimes sickening.

‘We didn’t want to have to post something like this but please remember that bullying somebody over an hour episode of a televised show is damaging.

‘Bullying and negative comments can be extremely harmful to someone’s mental health and sometimes in worse cases can be fatal.

‘We will not stand for bullying and harassment.’

Amber’s sister and friends explained the vitriol they’ve had to put up with on Amber’s social channels (Picture: @amber_beckford, Instagram)

‘For this reason, we have unfortunately decided to deactivate Amber’s Twitter before her arrival home to protect her mental well-being.

‘This is a decision that has been made by Amber’s close friends and family as it has been extremely for her family and friends to see, and we still want to make this an exciting time for Amber; not a negative one.

‘We’d like to thank everyone again for some of the love and to those who have supported Amber on her journey. We wish Amber’s new friends the best of luck in the villa and will continue to support them, please remember to be kind to them also; were only human [sic].’

‘If you have nothing nice to say, keep it to yourself,’ they concluded.

Charlie Radnedge and Antigoni Buxton – Day 25

Farewell, Charlie and Antigoni (Picture: ITV)

Both Charlie and Antigoni were brutally voted off by their cast mates in scenes aired on Friday, July 1.

Their fates had been hanging in the balance after viewers were asked to vote for the couples they believed were most compatible.

The three pairings with the fewest amount of votes were left vulnerable, with the ultimate choice being left up to their fellow Islanders.

It came down to Andrew Le Page and Tasha GhouriDanica Taylor and Jay Younger and Antigoni and Charlie after they received the fewest votes from the public, but the former four were given another chance to impress by their fellow hopefuls.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu announced the girls’ vote, telling the three boys: ‘You all deserve a long chance in here and a shot. It was very hard for us to decide between the three of you but we just had to come to a decision together.

‘So the boy that the girls have decided to be dumped from the island is Charlie.’

Luca Bish announced the boys’ choice, saying: ‘Obviously this ain’t been an easy decision for any of us. You’re all beautiful girls, inside and out, I think you all know that, and it will be gutting to see one of you leave.

‘But obviously, we are all here to find love, that being one of the biggest factors in it, who will be more open to that and who’s got better connections at the minute.

‘I’ll be gutted to see any of you go at the end of the day so… yeah. So the girl the boys have decided to dump from the Island is Antigoni.’

In her exit interview, Antigoni admitted: ‘I’m sad because I was having so much fun and I feel like the right guy didn’t come in for me but you know, there’s lots of guys on the outside!’

Charlie added: ‘Likewise for me, it would have been good if there was some other girls in there that I got along with better but yeah.’

Casa Amor contestants – Day 31

Well, not everyone could stay.

Casa Amor lived up to its reputation, shaking things up with new couples emerging as the ladies spent some time in the second villa.

That means that not every new contestant – both boys and girls – could continue on in the series with the following cast members being booted out following the recoupling:

  • Cheyanne Kerr
  • George Tasker
  • Jack Keating
  • Jazmine Nichol
  • Mollie Salmon
  • Samuel Agbiji

The contestants certainly left their mark, however, as the dumped Cheyenne made sure to let Paige know about Jaacques’ actions, who did not remain loyal during Paige’s time away from the main villa, sharing a kiss with both Cheyenne and Mollie.

In the aftermath, Jacques has even hinted that he may walk away from the villa, as he feels Paige may not forgive him for his actions.

Jay Younger and Chyna Mills – Day 35

Following the fallout from Casa Amor, the islanders once again had to decide the fate of their companions following the public vote.

Bombshell Jay Younger and Casa Amor resident Chyna Mills found themselves getting the boot after falling into the bottom alongside original islander Dami Hope and Casa Amor’s Summer Botwe.

Gemma Owen announced the decision, saying: ‘It’s not been an easy decision. I think it’s the worst feeling having to send a couple home. I think we feel particularly bad for you girls because you’ve not had long to explore connections.’

She added: ‘The couple we’ve decided to save is Summer and Dami.’

Leaving the villa, Jay, who previously set his sights on Paige Thorne, said he thinks the experience brought him closer to finding the one. Chyna said it’s been ‘short but sweet’ and that she’s enjoyed the experience.

Jacques O’Neill – Day 36

Jacques announced his shock exit after a blow-up argument with surprise bombshell Adam Collard was teased at the end of an episode on Monday, July 11.

A Love Island spokesperson said: “Jacques has made the decision to leave the Villa.

“He will explain his reasons to the Islanders during tonight’s episode.

“We fully support his decision and look forward to seeing what’s next for Jacques.”

Following his stint in Casa Amor, Jacques endured a tumultuous couple of weeks after kissing Cheyanne Kerr during Casa Amor week, upsetting Paige Thorne in the process.

During last night’s episode, he wrote her a grovelling apology which appeared to go down well – until the arrival of Adam.

In a teaser for tonight’s episode, it was suggested Adam told Paige his opinion of Jacques which didn’t go down well.

Jacques was then seen blowing up, snapping: ‘Who the f**k is he?’

His behaviour in Casa Amor sparked an enormous backlash from viewers, which didn’t get any better when Paige returned to the villa, and initially, he refused to apologise for kissing another girl.

His family later confirmed he lives with ADHD and struggles with emotions.

Josh Samuel Le Grove and Coco Lodge – Day 40

Josh Samuel Le Grove returned from Casa Amor with Danica – but things quickly cooled between them (Picture: ITV)

Josh returned from Casa Amor with Danica, only for things to fizzle out between them quickly after she grew closer to Billy Brown.

He received the lowest number of votes from the public in the dumping, which also saw Andrew Le Page and Deji Adeniyi at risk.

‘I feel like I slipped back into my old ways and got scared and then tried to pursue something else,’ he said of his time in the villa. ‘I feel like maybe I could have given it a better shot and then decided but I feel like although it turned out the way it did, it was a good lesson.

‘I made some really good friends and learnt some really good lessons so I would say it was a really good experience.’

Coco, who entered the main villa during Casa Amor, also saw her time on the show come to an end after she lost out to Summer Botwe and Tasha Ghouri in the public vote.

She brought the drama to the series after temporarily luring Andrew away from Tasha in the wake of Casa Amor, with a short-lived coupling – as she confessed that an intimate moment had happened between them in the villa.

In her exit interview she said she didn’t wish she’d done anything differently during her time on the show, saying: ‘I was genuine to me so I can’t really regret anything.’

On whether there’s any bad blood between her and Andrew after their drama, she assured that there’s no animosity.

‘As soon as that person comes back it’s hard to want to pursue both when you have such strong feelings for someone because you’ve known them a lot longer.

‘I don’t have any bad blood towards him but I do wish maybe things were handled a bit differently and it didn’t go as deep with us in Casa. It is what it is and we’re cool.’

Billy Brown and Summer Botwe – Day 44

Billy was booted by his fellow islanders on Day 44 (Picture: ITV/REX/Shutterstock)

Summer, Billy, Danica, and Dami found themselves in the bottom four, leaving the boys to decide which girl should stay, and the girls to do the same with the boys.

The group chose to save Danica and Dami, meaning that Summer and Billy’s Love Island experiences came to an end.

In his exit interview, 23-year-old Billy said that he’s ‘not happy, not sad’, explaining: ‘I felt that if it was my time then it was my time. It is what it is. Not happy, not sad, I’m just going with the flow with it and whatever happens, happens.’

At the time, he was coupled up with Danica – who was upset with him after he snubbed her, and revealed the details of a steamy moment to the rest of the villa.

22-year-old Summer, who was coupled up with Dami, described her exit as ‘bittersweet’.

She explained: ‘It’s bittersweet, I would have loved to have made it until the end but I am absolutely over the moon with how far I’ve got.

‘I am definitely leaving on a high with my head held high.’

Deji Adeniyi, Lacey Edwards, Nathalia Campos, and Reece Ford – Day 49

Four islanders were dumped from the villa tonight (Picture: ITV)

With just a few days to go until the final, four islanders were sent packing during a Sunday night dumping.

After her brief stint as a bombshell, 25-year-old Lacey left the show feeling hopeful for exploring her budding connection with Deji, also 25, beyond the villa.

She said in her exit interview: ‘I 100% think there could have been a good chance of our relationship blossoming.

‘It’s such early days but we both slotted in so well to villa life… We had banter with everyone and they were all really supportive of us. We didn’t get enough time but we are outside now so we can still carry on.’

Deji, meanwhile, discussed his initial pursuit of Indiyah in Casa Amor – despite her ultimately going back to Dami.

Deji and Lacey were also eliminated from the villa (Picture: ITV)

He said of his time in Casa: ‘I stand by what I did. I don’t want to change anything. I was true to myself, which is why I went for Indiyah and why we got along as much as we did.

‘If anything was fake she would have picked up on it and I would defo have not been myself. I wouldn’t change a thing.’

Nathalia, 23, made waves during her short stay on Love Island, most notably getting into a verbal scrap with Ekin-Su over some pancakes.

She joked: ‘The pancake competition, that was just hilarious, two grown ass women battling it out over pancakes, that was just funny and it was a good way of breaking the ice with Ekin-Su.

‘Me and her are good now, we have no problems, you can always solve whatever problem you have in the kitchen.’

Proving no bad blood, Nathalia even suggested that Ekin-Su and official boyfriend Davide could win the show: ‘[They] have a very good chemistry, they get along very well, they are also very entertaining so I think they have a very big chance.’

And Reece, 23, spent much of his time in the Majorcan villa competing with fellow bombshell Jamie for Dancia’s affections.

He joked upon his exit: ‘I could have done without that to be honest!

‘It was a bit of an uphill battle from the first night after they kissed in the dares game. When her and Jamie kissed, I knew it was going to be a bit of a challenge.’

Danica Taylor and Jamie Allen – Day 52

Danica and Jamie are the latest couple to leave this year’s Love Island (Picture: ITV2)

Just days before the final of this year’s Love Island is set to air, fans said goodbye to Danica Taylor and Jamie Allen.

During the episode on Tuesday, July 26, the islanders were shocked as they quickly learned that the public have been voting for their favourite pairings and that the duo with the fewest votes would be eliminated.

Danica and Jamie were revealed to be vulnerable alongside Dami and Indiyah and Adam Collard and Paige Thorne.

‘I’m walking out of here with somebody who I genuinely think I’ve got quite a good connection with,’ Danica said before leaving the villa.

‘I’m so proud of myself.’

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
