imbledon is back, but tennis fans might be surprised to see a new face offering the Championship coverage on BBC.

Meanwhile, she will share her broadcasting duties with Isa Guha. But who is the presenter we can expect on our screens for the next two weeks?

Who’s Isa Guha?

Isa Guha (37) is a former cricketer and a High Wycombe television and radio cricket broadcaster.

She made her international cricket debut in 2002 at just 17 years old, becoming the first South Asian woman to represent England in any sport, playing as a right-arm fast-medium bowler and right-handed batsman.

During her decade-long sporting career, the English cricket team has won two World Cups and an Ashes. In 2009, Isa was named the ICC’s number 1 bowler in the world.

She was named BBC Asian Sports Personality of the Year in 2002, and in 2010 she was named Sony Asian Sports Personality of the Year.

When she retired from cricket in 2012, Isa was the second highest wicketkeeper in the English Women’s one-day list of all time and sixth in the world.

Isa subsequently became a sports broadcaster and commented on BBC and Sky Sports, as well as international TV stations.

In addition to TV broadcasts, the former cricketer has also appeared on radio and contributed to print publications, including the Telegraph, the Daily Mail and the Guardian.

She became the BBC’s lead presenter and commentator on cricket coverage in 2020, and will share the host duties at Wimbledon with Sue Barker this year.

On Twitter, she shared a photo of the first day of the tournament, saying “Wimbledon debut – what an honor.”
