After the French Open, the next Grand Slam on the tennis calendar is the iconic Wimbledon.

Held at the All England Club in the famous South London district, the championship is arguably the biggest tennis event of the year, drawing even casual spectators to the sport.

And the glittering gold Wimbledon trophy is arguably the most coveted prize a professional tennis player can win.

So, when is Wimbledon this year? And where can you watch the action?

Here’s everything you need to know.

When does Wimbledon 2022 start?

Wimbledon starts this year tomorrow (June 27)ending in sunday july 10

For the first time, the tournament will be played over 14 days and will be played on Mid Sunday, according to the official schedule.

On which TV channel can Wimbledon 2022 be seen?

Viewers can watch the action during the Championships daily from 11am on BBC One, BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

There are also up to 18 courses to choose from on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app.

  • Wednesday 29 June: Men’s and Women’s singles second round – 11 hours
  • Thursday June 30: Men’s and Women’s singles second round – 11 hours
  • friday july 1: Men’s and Women’s singles third round – 11 hours
  • saturday july 2: Men’s and Women’s singles third round – 11 hours
  • sunday july 3: Men’s and Women’s singles fourth round – 11 hours
  • Monday 4 July: Men’s and Women’s singles fourth round – 11 hours
  • tuesday july 5: Quarter-finals men’s and women’s singles – 11 hours
  • wednesday july 6: Quarter-finals men’s and women’s singles – 11 hours
  • thursday july 7: Women’s singles semi-final – 1 o’clock in the afternoon
  • friday july 8: Men’s singles semi-finals – 1 o’clock in the afternoon
