Wimbledon 2022 serves its first round of matches today (June 27), with top tennis players from around the world competing for the top prize.

British hopefuls Emma Raducanu and Andy Murray will be picking up their rackets in hopes of taking home the coveted Wimbledon trophy.

But when will they compete?

Here’s everything you need to know about their early rounds and when they might be able to play after that.

When does Emma Raducanu play?

Emma Raducanu, the current British number one, will return to Wimbledon as Grand Slam champion for the first time in her career this year.

You can watch the 19-year-old star compete on BBC One, via the BBC Sports website, or listen to live coverage on BBC Radio 5.

Raducanu made her Wimbledon debut last year, reaching the fourth round before conceding to Ajla Tomljanovic due to breathing difficulties.

She made history by becoming the first ever qualifier to win a Grand Slam and win the US Open without dropping a set.

This will be Raducanu’s first game after seeing three separate injuries in 2022.

If she wins the first round, Radacanu can play again on Wednesday, June 29 or Thursday, June 30 for the second round of the women’s singles.

The third round will take place on both Friday 1 July and Saturday 2 July and the fourth round will take place on Monday 3 July and Tuesday 4 July.

If she makes it to the quarter-finals, Radacanu will play on Wednesday, July 5 or Thursday, July 6, before the semi-finals on Thursday, July 7.

The final of the women’s singles is scheduled for Saturday 9 July at 12:00 noon.

When does Andy Murray play?

Two-time Wimbledon champion and former world number one Andy Murray will once again compete for the gold trophy.

This year, his first round match against Australian James Duckworth at 4.45 pm on the Center Court on Monday 27 June.

Murray reached the third round of Wimbledon last year as a wildcard, losing to Denis Shapovalov from the 10th series.

If he wins his first round, Murray can return to men’s singles on Wednesday, June 29 or Thursday, June 30.

Like the women’s singles, the third round will take place on both Friday 1 July and Saturday 2 July and the fourth round on Monday 3 July and Tuesday 4 July.

If he makes the quarter-finals, Murray will play on Wednesday, July 5 or Thursday, July 6, before the semi-finals on Thursday, July 7.

The finals of the men’s singles will take place on the last day of the tournament on Sunday 10 July at 9:00 AM.

He has vowed to donate all the prize money he earns at Wimbledon this year to the victims of the war in Ukraine.
