Forecasters warned that there is likely to be early morning fog and fog that will gradually lift to reveal the sun from 7am. But for those in the north it is likely to be cloudy and some will experience drizzle and light rain.
The Met Office tweeted: “Rather cloudy for some in the north with further bursts of drizzle and light rain in the morning.
“Elsewhere, the fog will lift early in the morning and the fog will lift quickly with a fair amount of sunshine.”
Temperatures in London are expected to reach 27C while Britons are seeing sunshine across the country.
But the rain will be welcomed by many after last week’s heat wave with temperatures of 40C in some parts of the country.

It comes after BBC Weather forecast one of the driest July ever after the extreme heat.
The UK is carrying out the early stages of drought plans, using water carefully to protect supplies, the government said on Tuesday after record-breaking temperatures.
There are no plans so far to curb water use, but regulators and water companies are working to manage water levels, including by implementing water transfer schemes to artificially maintain rivers, the Environment Agency (EA) said.
BBC Weather’s Stav Danaos predicts no rain for Hurn and Odiham for the rest of this month.

He said: “A lot of parts of England and Wales are a good 20C cooler than what we had last week so that’s quite noticeable. Cooler during the day and cooler at night.
“The reason for that is an area of low pressure cooler around our northwest window.
“Higher pressure build-up from the west creates calm, so many places will remain dry.”
